it should work fine if you just create a new animation in your game engine using the frames of the running and shooting animation, but have the animation play backwards, last frame first first frame last.
For $1 cant fault it. I would love to see some kick animations (which I see are in the pipeline) and possibly a few more hand combat moves (for beat'em up games). But overall it's great and well worth the $1 pricetag!
Hello. I released an asset pack inspired by you. It's 3D character template. I gave you a proper credit at the top of the page. I felt like I need to inform you
Hello, this is a very good asset, I want to ask if I can use it for commercial and non-commercial projects?, Btw i Will make games with this asset, is that ok?
Okay here i have the most critic question for my project. Do i have to paint my caracter over all sprites of some sheets or is there a way to do this without spending countless hours redrawing the images, i was expecting to do some visible when equipped gear so even there the same question apply, is there a way to rig caracter with these animations without redrawing them all. i can use animate, aseprite, Blender, gimp , krita, photoshop, harmony, spriter, unity or unreal but now i dont know wich direction to launch my efforts. i do have ALOT of caracters to cut in pieces and weapons to isolate. But yeah essentially how can you propagate an image over a sprite without painting each pixel by hand
I would be very grateful if someone took the time to point me a direction to look into.
These animations are really awesome i really want to use them in my game
What you're describing is exactly what takes art teams so long in games. If you want it to look bespoke and custom, you're going to have to do a lot of things by hand. Automating things pretty much always going to look way worse (especially in pixel art, given how punishing the style is).
Usually with pixel animations, you can put the placeholders in a separate folder and your actual character in another. then you go layer by layer, putting the limbs in the right spots which is usually just copying and pasting across the frames and moving them. Then you do have to do some hand painting on each frame to make it look good but personally i've found that the actual movements (like this pack) takes most of the time.
Another way to do it is to model your character and animate them in 3D. Then export them at your pixel resolution and make it into a spritesheet. This works quite well, especially if you're working with 8 directions. You're going to have to look into how to export images so they're pixel perfect, but Blender does it quite easily. You can even make animated normal maps that correspond to your character to do dynamic lighting.
Good luck on your quest! I hope this helps a little, but feel free to completely ignore this :)
thank you yeah im going to go for a cut paste over the limbs method . last resort todat will be spline to see if i can bone rig some kind of puppet but even then pasting a whole caracter on it will be a no go
thank you for taking time to answer me ! i appreciate it im not really an artist much more a coder who wants to practice with a ton of ideas. Itch.io for 50$ i found ALOT of assets i will be using the main caracter being the most complicated of course. but for my first times here i found it very refreshing
If possible I'd like to suggest a few animations which would make this pack also suitable to prototype cinematic platformers like Flashback, Another World or the original Prince of Persia.
Standing Idle (ie. talking to someone - not ready to pounce on them).
Standing Turn (ie. turn on the spot to face the opposite direction).
Standing Idle jump straight up to Ledge Grab.
Standing Draw Gun.
Crouching Draw Gun.
Standing Turn with Weapon Drawn.
Crouching Turn on spot with weapon drawn.
Hide (moves up "into" screen against a wall).
"Wall Land" but catching with both hands (like the start of Ledge Grab Climb).
Interact/Use animation both facing into/out of the screen.
Hopefully you're familiar with the style of games I mentioned and feel like some of these would be worth adding, even if they are in a different pack which you charge for I'd happily purchase it.
O wow O.o At first I thought why should I need pixel-art assets, but once I saw the gifs, I changed my mind. Your work is really crazy good. Big thumbs up!
I've been prototyping with this asset pack for some time, and really enjoyed it. I'd like to leave a request for future actions. One of the last mechanics missing from my plans in it is a floating cycle, something like a person flying on a wind tunnel. I'm also interested in the future throw animation, as I'm working on sword throwing stuff.
This is an awesome, awesome set. i'm brand new to game development, learning to use godot at the moment, and i'm intending to use these sprites to handpaint my own. until that happens i've got your sprites in the project, and the animations are so smooth and well proportioned. especially great for the price. thank you so much!
once i've finished the game i will of course credit you fully, everyone should buy these sprites.
Hi there! Just wanted to thank you for an awesome reference material! I've worked on a new game with friends and this is what we've got for the jam's submission date, also added you to the credits for the original sprites I've been learning from obviously :)
I've been pretty much taking care of both the tiles and the animations so it helped me to quickly get the necessary sprites done, make some tweaks and focus on the look of the levels and custom animations. And this is the link to the game!
Just bought your asset pack, I can't wait to try it out. It's amazing. You have saved me so much time. I can't wait until you create the other animations. Happy to pay you a chunk of change to finish them all. Hit me up if you want to do it.
hi man, first of all, I'm absolutely obsessed with your asset pack, we should make a game together, are you on an indie games team? How i can use you animation in my game?

Please make it free, backdays was free but i lost the file
This is great! Thank you :)
Is there any chance of a backpedal style animation? Looking to have my character shoot whilst running backwards, but i'm no good at animation.

Awesome pack. Could really use that idly standing/conversation animation
at least one of us can do pixel animation XD my name is also hayden and i am in desperate need of this hahah thanks

I used this asset in this project: https://tcsouza.itch.io/scale-alchemist

Hello, I cannot pay for this set of assets because all available payment methods are blocked in my country. Can I pay for them in some other way?
Can we get a sword walk animation? There is a katana walk/run but only a sword run.
This Is Good For Placeholder Sprites For Games

The one to heal and collect is missing, an object like this would be complete
I don't have nearly enough skills to customize this guy, but he looks amazing! Nice job!!
Any news on the swimming animations?
this is crazingly good but if i may suggest a pack fopr top down rpg :3 pls
I want to second this request
Bow and arrows, and hurt animations would be a great addition! Great pack! Also generic resource gathering? Mining, Tree cutting...
Great pack and quality animations - thank you!

Again, great work and thanks!
A katana blocking bullet animation would be really cool.
would a limping animation be possible?
O wow O.o

Very cool, thank you
Worth every penny. Great job with this and has helped me prototype massively.
I'd love to request a few things:
1) rope swing animation
2) Hurt while in mid air / falling
3) Bow and Arrow animations.
