Thanks so much for making this, it really helped me in finishing this game jam for my college. I provided credit, here's the game: https://m-1k3-y.itch.io/down-goes-dante
It is a bit rough around the edges, but I think it turned out OK for being my "first" jam. Customized the character a little bit to look like Dante Alighieri lol. Cheers!
Yo, does anyone know is out there anywhere i can find something similar, but for 4 directions (facing the camera, facing right/left, and back to the camera)?
Hey there! I really love this asset pack, I'm recently trying to make animations and some form of a game prototype basing on it! Can't wait for the slide animation too :)
Also just in case I wanted to share some results. At the moment I'm using the template's animations to recreate the player character. I'll work on a custom tileset later on, for now I'm pretty much prototyping.:
Hello, its really easy to edit these: First you pick some art software (Aseprite, Photoshop, GIMP...) any one will do, then you have to zoom in to see the template because pixel art is really small. The next step is to just draw. Have fun. I recommend you use aseprite or its free alternative libresprite, watch a short tutorial on how to use it
I'd like to buy it. but with all scripts for just take it and use it as prototype.... I can pay 20 euro for that. Send me private message if it possible :)
I enjoyed this asset pack during it's 'Free To Download' phase, it had everything I needed to comfortably prototype game mechanics for my upcoming game (Project: C.L.O.A.K). I just bought it, it's the First asset I've purchased ever and I don't regret anything. Best $1 I've ever spent, 10/10 would recommend any day. Keep up the good work
There are a few different "sprite/canvas sizes" due to the nature of the animations. However, even though the sprite might be 80x64 px, for example, the character size remains consistent to the character size in the 48x48 px canvas/sprite.
Any plans for 8 directional walk? I am looking for 8D assets, and everything seems to be just N,E,S,W or side scrolling. Great job and I will be picking this up regardless
Why is only the death animation 64x64? Took me 2 hours to figure out why the death animation was smaller than all the others and to convert it to 48x48..
its the same size character, just in a slightly larger canvas size. The canvas size is larger due to the nature of the animation. changing the sprite size to 48x48 would not be recommended
I won't be providing any unity files or scripts. This asset pack is only graphical assets. I'm sorry to disappoint in this regard, but following a series on Youtube, for example, would be my recommendation for putting together a character controller/ player finite state machine:
I absolutely adore this pack, all of the animations are more or less exactly what I want. The only things I would like to see are more of a 'taste' thing than anything else such as a calmer idle animation as well as animations for rifles.
Beyond that I think this is one of the most value-for-your-buck (literally) packs out there. Amazing job, ZeggyGames!
I have been using this asset pack to early prototype nearly everything, this is an amazing work and I'm glad you manage to monetize it and give some updates as well !
i just got this and love the animations, one question tho. can i still freely download any new updates that come after the time of my purchase or how does it work?
I'm somewhat new to game dev as a hobby and I haven't had the fortune of partnering with a local artist in my journey yet, so having this as a prototyping model has been incredibly helpful to allow me to work on nailing down the code for various sidescroller systems and mechanics in the mean time :)
You posted another animation yesterday so I came back to pick it up and I didn't even realize that you had only started charging for this pack a few days before I stumbled upon it! At the time, I saw it was only a dollar and didn't even think twice. It has been so useful for me in the past month, so I went and donated more. You deserve it. Thank you again!
Thanks is useful for make a game, I don't know nothing about design and this pack is amazing, If are you add new animations, Is necessary buy this pack again or this pack update automatically?
I'm not sure tbh! I would imagine you can download any future updates for free after purchasing, but I'm just not positive. you would probably have to confirm w/ itch support
First of, I wanna thank you for this pack, it's awesome!
Apologies if this has already been fixed, but recently I bought the pack and from what I could tell, the katana run attack & katana air attack were missing.
You are correct - however they only have the asesprite files inside of them for me. Considering all other folders also have the png spritesheets, I assumed this was by accident.
I suppose I could have the top half of the body in a PNG/sprite sheet form. they are different than the other animations based on the fact that the animations will have to be layered when implemented. Something like This? I haven't implemented myself in a game engine yet

I began working on something due to high demand🤫
That's great to hear! Keep up the good work!

this is really great- thank you for sharing! I love the secondary animation work you did with the hair. really helps bring it to life
I'm new here, can anyone know how to edit these sprites?

THIS character asset is the holy grail of side scrollers prototyping!
I’ve used it for a Beat’em Up lol, and planning to use it big time on a platformer, thanks for the amazing job!
Also credited the Beat Em Up appropriately at https://vxspctr.itch.io/beer-em-up
Hi, buying it now, looks awesome, will save me much time in the future!
But wanted to ask, is there a chance of getting minning animation?
Will there be animations for casting spells or, for example, animation for drinking a potion, etc.?
I'd like to buy it. but with all scripts for just take it and use it as prototype.... I can pay 20 euro for that. Send me private message if it possible :)
Is it possible to get the animations for 4 directions?:)
I would like to make something like that in the future but this asset pack is not designed to be used for a top-down perspective

Sorry for my ignorance, but I would like to know what is the resolution of all the sprites (I don't know if I'm expressing myself well).
The typical sprite size is 48x48
There are a few different "sprite/canvas sizes" due to the nature of the animations. However, even though the sprite might be 80x64 px, for example, the character size remains consistent to the character size in the 48x48 px canvas/sprite.
larger canvas reference (64x64 px):
smaller canvas reference (48x48 px):
Hi, thank you for all these custom sprites! Would you be able to do a sword air attack, a wall jump and a sword crouch attack?
Look forward for your update ;)
all you need is to add directional thing to that and that will be worth it like shooting up or down and more like that
Any plans for 8 directional walk? I am looking for 8D assets, and everything seems to be just N,E,S,W or side scrolling. Great job and I will be picking this up regardless
amazing pack , thats the only thing i bought in itch.io
Is there going to be some sort of fireball throwing animation or just any circle-like projectile throwing animation in general?
Noticed that asset pack 5 is missing the dash sprite sheet! Is this intentional?
Hi suggestion, can you make Idle Katana? and Riffle shooting? thanks!
Why is only the death animation 64x64? Took me 2 hours to figure out why the death animation was smaller than all the others and to convert it to 48x48..
its the same size character, just in a slightly larger canvas size. The canvas size is larger due to the nature of the animation. changing the sprite size to 48x48 would not be recommended
yo bro, possible to give us the Unity template for this? haha noob here man, would love to have your script!
I won't be providing any unity files or scripts. This asset pack is only graphical assets. I'm sorry to disappoint in this regard, but following a series on Youtube, for example, would be my recommendation for putting together a character controller/ player finite state machine:
so i bought the pack recently and the dash animations was missing, is there a upcoming paatch for that?
Work is still in progress, but it is the next animation I plan to release
What's the pixel density of this?
48x48, 64x64 and some others are 80x64
I absolutely adore this pack, all of the animations are more or less exactly what I want. The only things I would like to see are more of a 'taste' thing than anything else such as a calmer idle animation as well as animations for rifles.

crazy work bro! I'm using your sprite on our game for our IP! you do collaboration btw?
Pretty good overall... however, the roll animation isn't my favorite.
Thanks. what would make the roll animation better exactly?
It's just not particularly smooth and looks a bit choppy to my eyes. Perhaps it's because the character doesn't really "curl up" much.
For example, this asset has a fairly sublime looking roll animation: https://aamatniekss.itch.io/fantasy-knight-free-pixelart-animated-character
This tutorial here kind of points to what I'm getting at: https://www.patreon.com/posts/slide-roll-dash-16562907
Thanks for the feedback. I may revise that at some point

Hi- you might have to confirm with Itch support, but I believe you should be able to re-download from My Library > "My Purchases":
Hey bro, any chance of having some animations for these cases? :)
- Cutting Tree (axe)
- Mining (pickaxe)
- Firing arrow with a bow
Thanks for the great stuff!
This is an amazing pack, thank you!
I'm somewhat new to game dev as a hobby and I haven't had the fortune of partnering with a local artist in my journey yet, so having this as a prototyping model has been incredibly helpful to allow me to work on nailing down the code for various sidescroller systems and mechanics in the mean time :)

I loved it at first glance!
I would wait for the sword combo attack while running and mid-air dash (like how Celeste or Hollow Knight works)
Thanks is useful for make a game, I don't know nothing about design and this pack is amazing, If are you add new animations, Is necessary buy this pack again or this pack update automatically?
I never buy nothing in Itch.io but your animation pack really like to me.
I'm not sure tbh! I would imagine you can download any future updates for free after purchasing, but I'm just not positive. you would probably have to confirm w/ itch support
Great template and extremely helpful.
absolutely love this work. one of the finest assets on itch.
First of, I wanna thank you for this pack, it's awesome!

you should find both of these animations in V4:
You are correct - however they only have the asesprite files inside of them for me. Considering all other folders also have the png spritesheets, I assumed this was by accident.
Either way it's no biggy :)
I suppose I could have the top half of the body in a PNG/sprite sheet form. they are different than the other animations based on the fact that the animations will have to be layered when implemented. Something like This? I haven't implemented myself in a game engine yet
Ahhh it would be perfect for my need if this had rifle-shotgun animation.. Great template btw.
What is the res of this character? I am planning to make a game res of 32x32, do you think that it will fit it?
48x48
