This was the same experience I had. Characters got stuck on one another, resetting the level a few times somehow got them both permanently stuck jumping while clipping into the ground
I found some kind of bug where when you hold the other character and press esc, the menu doesn't pop up and you can't move left or right on either character unless you restart the level.
Pretty cool game, but I think I ended up cheesing the last two levels with some tricks like grabbing a box right after jumping off the ground. Was there a point to the sideways switch in the last level? I ended up skipping it entirely.
I do see what you mean about the sideways switch in the last level.. I'll have to take another look at that level now. Any way you can show me exactly how you "cheesed" the last two levels? I can send you my discord if you're willing.

Believe it or not but I got stuck on level 2 and didn't continue :(, esc exits full screen so kind of annoying

Tbh I had a bad time with lvl 2 as well bc I kept getting stuck on a lot of things on it, please fix level 2
I changed the level 2 design- give it another try?
I removed the pause functionality because it seemingly broke the game!

this should be resolved in the current build. I removed the esc/pause function
